I was at Superstore, looking for supposed "deals" on Xboxes (thanks a *LOT* Batri!) and there were 5 units in the middle of the floor marked "Reduced". I looked and saw the not-so-obscene figure of 125$ on it. a Brief conversation with Rose later, I was the proud new onwer of a PS2. And 2 controllers. And GTA: Vice City. And James Bond 007 - Agent Under Fire. And a memory card. Talk about accessories. I have spent the last 3 hours stealing cars and beating hookers with claw hammers for their money. So things have been a little more twisted than my usualy laundry-and-Star-Trek Saturday afternoons. Which is just fine by me.|W|P|111974561739068556|W|P|I've joined the rnaks|W|P|6/22/2005 06:17:00 AM|W|P|Mike|W|P|The Onion 2056 I think this is the funniest thing that I have ever read.|W|P|111944624593452199|W|P|Asimov's Unwritten 4th Law|W|P|6/19/2005 07:43:00 PM|W|P|Mike|W|P|Dad, you are my inspiration, my mentor, and the reason I am who I am. That is the Korean melee version of kendo. I've been doing it about a year now, lots of fun, very flashy, looks good on camera!" Hmm...I might just do that. After all, I *do* have a Lightsaber at home.|W|P|111904584820241011|W|P|Lightsaber Fighting Lessons|W|P|6/20/2005 07:55:00 AM|W|P|Blogger Dru|W|P|I took Kendo for a little while, but I never really got into it. There was too much focus on competition and not enough on application.

That, and I figured that it was rather unlikely that I'd be strolling down the street with a katana in my back pocket ;).

you obviously didn't take the form seriously if you didn't bother to invest in at least a tanto or an aikuchi.

and like i said, i have a lightsabre. remember? you've toyed with it a few times yourself.6/21/2005 06:11:00 PM|W|P|Blogger Dru|W|P|You're probably right on that one (my not taking the form seiriously thing); although I did invest in a nice Blackwood Daito. I still have it somewhere.

Doesn't quite fit in my back pocket, though ;).

Actually, the thing I've learned from my time in Kung Fu is that I have no great love of weapons in general. I prefer to beat the snot out of someone with my bare hands. Not intended as a condemnation of weapon-based martial arts in general, just my own personal preference. I like the empty-hand stuff.

We're going to take our time and relax a little, enjoy the summer, agressivly save our funds, and maybe even pay off some of that pesky outstanding debt. Our agent, Carol, has been so amazingly helpful that it hurt to call and tell her to stop looking for us. If anyone from Calgary is reading this, you can do much worse than Carol in regards to realtors. If you want, drop me a line and I'll give her numbers to ya. In a completely unrelated note, if anyone has a rough, battle-scarred brown trench coat that they can do without, lemme know. I have to dress up for serenity.|W|P|111895995380461155|W|P|Harrumph|W|P|6/16/2005 10:20:00 AM|W|P|Mike|W|P|Guardian Unlimited | The Guardian | 'Ice-pick that killed Trotsky' found in Mexico Cool! I hope that it will be corss-platform (sounds like it will) and I hope that it will not be shut down by copyright legislation (probably will) but none the less, it's a step in the right direction.|W|P|111819587510449701|W|P|Internet Television|W|P|
