But then again, am I happy "Enterprise" ended at all?
Why did Trip have to die? Because we (fans) needed to feel that something importnat has happened. But we all know that no one ever dies in Star Trek. Lenny t ried that one...didn't work. I would have preferred to have seen some of the other adventures of Archer & Co. at least alluded to in this final episode of the show. Did they meet the Gorn? Is Zephran Cochrane alive and well on Gamma Canaris Planetoid 527? Who was Archer's father really working for? (Unit 13 anyone?) What caused the Romulan War?
I like that they finally, after some 40 years, explained what happened to Klingons.
But instead they decide to kill off Trip, one of my favorite characters, and bring in a FatRiker and a FatTroy. I mean, it's only been, what, six years? Holy fuck, did they have to let themselves go *SO* badly? I mean, anyone can look good in a uniform (Sean, back me up on this) but to make a uniform (which implies that you have to maintain some level of physical fitness) look stretched...that's just wrong. Troy...argh. I don't even know where to begin.
And why the blazes are TNG characters in the season, nay, series, finale of "Enterprise"? Because once upon a time, Troy was hot. Its sad that Rick Berman (May you burn in Hell you backstabbing bastard) has to rely on hotness of future-women more than smaller things...like plot and creativity, to draw viewership. I've met Marina Siritis. She's not that attractive.
Needless to say, Geoff Coobs as Shram had to appear in the final episode, he was just so good,and so enjoyable. "Pink skin". (Insert girlish giggle here). He played such a major character in the show that he had to at least make an appearance in the final.
All the props given to TNG? Awsome. When Trip said "All good thing..." I was literally giggling like a schoolboy. I was half expecting Q to show up. In fact, I'm kinda disappointed that Q didn't show up in "Enterprise". Ever.
Google John DeLancie...I dare you. It's kinda scary.
OK OK OK OK, "Enterprise". I need more wine.|W|P|111604232639772960|W|P||W|P|5/06/2005 12:05:00 PM|W|P|Mike|W|P|Barrett's Privateer's Explored|W|P|111540630449564111|W|P|Barrett's Privateer's Explored|W|P|5/06/2005 08:05:00 AM|W|P|Mike|W|P|So Rose and I went to see a condo last night.
What a gargantuan disappointment. It was for sale by the owner, and it looked fantastic in the add. Openspaces, hardwood floors, and almost 1000 square feet! And right downtown too, it would have been exactly what we are looking for.
Then in walked Mr. Reality and made things sucky. The place we were showed was a basement suite. Right away, since we had talked about this kind of thing, we lost interest. Not only was it not as advertised, it was over 300 square feet smaller! The place was maybe, and I'm being generous here, MAYBE 750 sq.ft. Dark, small, and, lets be honest, not what was advertised.
So on the walk home, we decided to call a real estate agent. She was so very nice, and within 5 minutes she had e-mailed us a list of 7 or 8 units in our area, price range, and size requirments. So this is good. I haven't had a chance to see them yet, but I probably will tonight. The realtor even gave us a referral to a mortgage hunter, who will help us find the right mortgage for us.
I'm kinda freakin' out because everything is actually happening and it's looking more and more like we'll be in a place of our own, a place that we can call ours, pretty soon. I'm kinda freakin' out about it since it's the biggest investment of our lives and I don't want to make a bad choice. I know with Rose besides me and the intelligence that God saw fit to give me, we'll make the right choice.
